McLaren 600LT Wheel Performance
The Wheel Performance of the McLaren 600LT (both coupe and spider) is much improved over the 570S. We now have Forged wheels as standard and an 11” rear wheel instead of the 570S 10” rear. There is still some room for improvement with the factory 8” wide front wheel. Thats where our Forged VS-5RS comes in, check out the McLaren 600LT Wheel and TIre Fitment Guide for all the fitment info you need.
A Brief history of the 2019-2020 McLaren 600LT
Following the success of the 675LT, the 600LT continues the formula of more power, less weight, and more downforce. Weight was decreased by a staggering 220lb from extended use of carbon fiber, lightweight exhaust, optional Senna seats, and other small changes that get us to that dramatic total. While continuing to use the Monocell II carbon tub the suspension has been revised for this model. Now with higher spring rates and stiffer anti-roll bars, you can expect a more level platform while driving your favorite race track and more immediate response. Power is up an additional 30hp over the 570S bringing it to 592 hp. This change was accomplished through a new top exit exhaust and revised ECU tuning.
Why it makes a good track car
What some say is the best driver's car McLaren has offered. With natural handling characteristics and a playful nature, the 600LT is loved by most. There are some key changes made that make it a great option to take to your next track day. Less weight and the optional bucket seats. Lighter weight is always a pro on track, offering better acceleration, deceleration and direction changes, there are no downsides to having a lighter car. The optional bucket seats mean you do not have to hold yourself upright while pulling high G’s through the corners. The seats will do that for you allowing you to focus on driving. We merely scratched the surface of the McLaren 600LT, if you want to learn more this review from Motor Trend is a great place to start.
