When Apex first looked to develop Volkswagen Wheels, we worked alongside VW enthusiasts to ensure we offered the community exactly what they were looking for from a performance focused wheel brand. Most of the VW owners we spoke with expressed their desire for smaller diameter wheels with a focus on overall strength and brake clearance. Mainly due to negative experiences with fragile 19” factory VW wheels, which commonly develop bends and cracks. Taking that into consideration, we recognized a gap in the Volkswagen market for 17” and 18” chassis-specific fitments designed to reduce unsprung weight and run the widest tires possible front and rear.
