The third generation Audi 8V S3 made its first appearance in late 2013, offering a 2.0l turbo 4-cylinder with an output just shy of 300 horsepower at the crank. The 8V S3 continued to be sold in international markets from 2014-2021. Power is sent through a 6-speed manual, or optional 6-speed DSG transmission, paired with Audi’s excellent Quattro AWD system. This potent drivetrain combined with a relatively lightweight chassis allows the 8V S3 to put down some respectable acceleration times, while offering decent cornering speeds as well. In 2016, the S3 was subject to a mid-cycle facelift that involved a few aesthetic changes, as well as some chassis and engine tuning. However, the biggest change was the introduction of the new 7-speed DSG transmission as standard, without any options for a 6-speed manual on the car moving forward.
