Will's GR Supra On 18" Forged Sprint™ Line EC-7RS

Article | 12/14/2021 by Matt Thompson

We recently had a chance to catch up with our friend Will to shoot his simply ridiculous 2021 Supra. The eye-catching purple wrap draws you in, but details abound on this track build and we hope that this thread helps to showcase this amazing build. Spage and Verus Aero catalogs are heavily represented, while AP Racing Radi-Cal brakes haul the car down in the braking zones. As you would expect, the suspension is also heavily modified with MCS 3-way dampers and SPL Parts sprinkled throughout. This gives Will and Elite Performance, Will’s performance shop of choice, complete control over his setup. The full list of mods can be found below. If you are interested in following the evolution of this build or reading about the process from the beginning, Will has a full build thread on SupraMKV.com.

With the supporting mods out of the way, power is next on the list. The B58 in these cars is a deep well of potential performance. With such a heavily modified and capable platform, Will plans to begin pushing out some serious power once additional options open up for tuning the locked A90 ECUs.

Our Sprint™ Line EC-7RS wheels are featured in this photoshoot. Will’s car gave us the perfect opportunity to showcase our aggressive 18×11 ET40 square fitment, but this size and wheel design are just the beginning of APEX forged wheels on the A90 Supra platform. We have both less aggressive square and staggered fitments arriving in the future, in multiple diameters.

This 18×11 ET40 fitment is the widest square wheel and tire package we recommend for the Supra. Aftermarket suspension and additional negative camber are required for front clearance, but the ability to run up to a 315 section front tire allows track-enthusiasts to rotate wheels and tires between the front and rear axles and provides an enormous increase in overall front-end grip.

With a headlight sacrificed in the name of speed, this Supra’s days of getting the groceries and quick errands have been exchanged for fast laps and chasing that final few tenths alongside Porsche GT cars. Not everyone may like the sound of that, but as the video feature below shows, we love the sound of warning messages in the morning.

As an enthusiast he made the shift from street driving to track driving in order to fully experience his cars at the limit without putting the public at risk. Matt has owned six Hondas (‘94 Integra LS, ‘95 Integra RS, ‘96 Integra GS-R, ‘06 RSX Type-S, ‘95 Civic VX, ‘17 Civic EX-T), two Subarus (‘15 Impreza, ‘22 BRZ), and is likely shopping for the next addition to his stable. When he’s not helping JDM owners figure out the best wheel setups for their cars, he enjoys playing racing video games and indulging his interest in automotive photography. Fun fact: Matt knows every quotable line in The Fast and the Furious by heart.
