THE FUSING OF TWO ICONS

The forged ML-7RT is the latest addition to the Touring Line, pairing bold aesthetics with a proven Real Performance lineage. It fuses the hallmark features of two iconic Apex designs into one wheel.

The ML-7RT uses the bold, lipped profile of its sibling, the ML-10RT, eliminating the outer C-channel and refining the interface between the face and the lip for an even cleaner, more aggressive profile. We then explored what the iconic face of our EC-7RS would look like integrated into the lipped platform. The result was a successful fusion: an all-new wheel that maintains an aggressive lipped mesh aesthetic, but with a more streamlined, less intricate face and a reworked outer lip.

The ML-7RT pairs perfectly with European sports cars, taking a timeless iconic motorsport look and elevating it with cutting-edge manufacturing technology.

ENGINEERING WITH FUNCTION AND FORM IN MIND

By designing the forged ML-7RT as a monoblock wheel and combining it with Apex’s rigorous vehicle research and engineering standards, we’re able to offer a wheel that’s lighter, stronger, and maintenance-free compared to vintage options. The ML-7RT is a wheel that’s lighter and stronger than its ancestors, with better brake clearance and vehicle-specific fitments in mind.

We start by fully designing and engineering this wheel with our in-house engineering team before CNC-machining it from a 10,000-ton forged block of 6061-T6 aluminum, using our specialized motorsport blanks. In addition to the revised outer lip geometry, the split-7 spoke ML-7RT features our reinforced Sprint-spec inner lip. This alone creates critical strength improvement in the most unsupported area of a wheel by adding 32% more material where it matters most. Like every wheel we make, it’s independently tested to standards above the industry norms, pushing the design to higher loads and longer durations in order to truly validate strength and integrity.

With a monoblock design and its clear-coated machined outer lip, the ML-7RT will not suffer any rusting or leaking hardware, or constant polishing maintenance. While this aesthetic costs a few pounds compared to our no-compromise race wheels in the Sprint Line, the ML-7RT remains lighter than many of its lipped predecessors and modern competitors.

We challenged our engineers to get creative with the weight saving measures while still remaining true to both our Real Performance standards as well as the bold designs found in all of our Touring Line wheels. The ML-7RT’s side-milled spokes and rear spoke pockets are a perfect example of these obsessive measures. They shave off critical weight, while adding a visual contrast to the aesthetic of the wheel.

The ML-7RT is being launched in 18- and 19-inch fitments for BMW and Porsche. Going beyond saving weight and looking good, these spokes were engineered to create aesthetically satisfying deeper, more concave profiles, while still maximizing brake clearance. Every fitment is tailored for the perfect stance and shrinkwrapped around precise 3D scans for a perfect, tailored fitment to both the fender and the brakes for each specific application. This means you can buy with confidence knowing that the ML-7RT was engineered from the ground up for your specific model.

Initially this wheel will be offered in three vibrant finishes - Gloss Motorsport Gold, Race Silver and Anthracite, all with our ML-series machine-polished lip. Laser-engraved specs on the barrel, in plain sight, also help set the ML-7RT apart from the competition. And it accepts both Apex and OEM caps for seamless customization.

Plenty of style wheel manufacturers have attempted to reimagine this design in a monoblock wheel, but none have incorporated the performance standards Apex has maintained in the ML-7RT. This is exactly what forged wheels should be—precision-built, performance-proven, and aesthetically striking.

The result is the Forged Touring Line: Apex’s first fusion of the race-proven engineering our wheels are known for and the aesthetic priority so many enthusiasts demand, filling a gap even the most legendary wheels rarely address. It’s our tribute to stunning design paired with an uncompromising commitment to performance.
