Vincent’s 2004 E46 M3 Clubsport Race Car With APEX Wheels

APEX: Tell us some details about yourself & your cars.

Vincent: My name is Vincent from Geneva, Switzerland. My hobbies are cars, traveling and crossfit. I own a F31 335i Touring modified with 19″ APEX ARC-8 wheels (https://www.apexraceparts.com/wheels/arc-8-wheels.html) as a daily driver and a heavily modified 2004 E46 M3 “Clubsport” race car with 18″ APEX ARC-8 wheels as a street setup and the new 18″ APEX FL-5 wheels as a track setup. My race car is fully painted in Porsche GT3 RS’s Grey Black.

APEX: What is your track day wheel setup?

Vincent: My E46 M3’s Street square setup features APEX 18×9.5” ET22 ARC-8 wheels in Anthracite. I run 265/35-18 Yokohama AD08R tires.

My Track square setup features the new APEX 18×9.5” ET22 FL-5 wheels in Race Silver wrapped with 265/35-18 Pirelli P-Zero Trofeo R Tires. This setup requires 3.8° camber on the front and about 2° on the rear. (This wheel has been discontinued, but you can find our other FL-5 fitments here.)

APEX: Why did you choose APEX Wheels over the rest?

Vincent: I chose APEX wheels because I’ve seen a lot of people using that brand, and I had friends who bought some in the past that I loved! I also think that these wheels have a very good price/design/weight compromise.

APEX: How did you get into track racing & for how long?

Vincent: I started track racing in 2011 with my first journey on a track being on the Nürburgring Nordschleife (Germany) with a Mitsubishi Lancer EVO VI RS-2 I had at that time. I really appreciate this track and have started to go much more often.

APEX: How many events do you participate in each year, care to share any track results?

Vincent: I attend approximately four events at the Nürburgring Nordschleife (Germany) a year, it is my favorite track and I have about 300 laps there. My fastest lap time is 7.49min BTG in Tourist Drive, but I can surely go down around 7.40min BTG.

APEX: If you could give one tip to a new racer, what would your tip be?

Vincent: Live, love and race! But be warned, once you start going on track, you’ll never stop!

Tom is a BMW Fitment Expert at APEX Wheels. Prior to joining the company in 2019, he worked for BMW of North America as Fleet Manager: Portland (OR) for the ReachNow car-sharing program, and as Warranty Administrator/Loaner Fleet Manager at BMW Portland. In addition, Tom has extensive training in BMW TSBs (Technical Service Bulletins) as well as in-depth knowledge of all BMW chassis and their wheel fitment options, with and without aftermarket brake and suspension upgrades. His high-performance driving experience includes autocross events in southern Oregon and track days at PIR in his 2004 E46 330i with 17x9 ET42 APEX ARC-8 wheels.
