SP Motorsports 981 Cayman S Race Car On 18” EC-7R Forged Wheels

Article | 08/25/2020 by Brandon Kimbell

We linked up with our friends at SP Motorsports to mount up a set of our all-new fully forged EC-7R wheels on their 2014 Porsche 981 Cayman S. SP Motorsports is an authorized APEX dealer and is known for their elite Arrive & Drive/Porsche Service shop out of Hayward, CA. They have a killer program going on over there and when we heard that they were wrapping one of their shop Cayman’s in the iconic Rothmans livery, we knew we had to check it out. When viewing the car your eyes are immediately attracted to the livery, therefore, we chose to install our EC-7R wheels in the Anthracite finish which played into the theme quite nicely.

Like this well sorted Cayman, our 18” EC-7R forged wheels are all about achieving maximum performance and durability at an affordable price point. The 18″ diameter will shed weight and open you up to 18” tire options which dramatically reduces your running tire costs, while the 9” front and 10.5” rear wheel widths will maximize tire sidewall support for popular track/race compounds over slimmer options commonly found in the marketplace. These wheel widths are especially important for drivers piloting well developed Caymans, including cars prepared for PCA GTB1 class.

The shop cars at SP Motorsports are always evolving and improving overtime, so we’ll be sure to provide updates as the car continues to develop. Here are some of our favorite photos from the day.
