APEX: Tell us some details about yourself & your cars.

Khoi: Hi! My name’s Khoi Ha, owner and driver of #97 BMW E92 M3. The long and short: I purchased the M3 (about 4 months ago) originally to have something fun & fast to drive on the weekends as my race Subaru was quickly heading into full race mode aka “not so fun to drive on the street anymore” A month into owning the M3 I knew I wanted to get this thing onto the track. Threw a feeler out for the Subaru thinking no one would pay this much for it… and 2 weeks later; sold! It was sad but at the same time I knew I could not afford to race both cars! You can find me at most NASA Mid Atlantic events. Last week was my first time doing a NASA Great Lakes event and look forward to tracking with NASA North East as well; I ran at NJMP (Part of NASA NE’s schedule) with Global Time Attack (GTA) and it was a blast! In 2019 my main goal is to become an instructor and eventually prep the BMW to race in NASA Time Trials (TT3) I’d also like to do more GTA events and perhaps go to my first Gridlife!

APEX: What is your track day wheel setup?

Khoi: APEX ARC-8 18×10″ +25 Matte Bronze (square) APEX 75mm wheel studs APEX 12mm rear spacers APEX 5mm front spacers (not installed, purchased just in case of front inner clearance) Bridgestone RE71-R 275/35/18

APEX: Why did you choose APEX Wheels for the 3rd time?

Khoi: I ran 2 sets on my Subaru, and this is my first, and probably not last set for the BMW! You won’t find a better bang for the buck functional sexy wheel for the track!

– Clears the OEM big brakes, and aftermarket BBKs – The wheels are strong and light – They’re simply beautiful wheels! I constantly get asked what wheels these are. – They don’t cost an arm, a leg, and your first born!

APEX: What other modifications have been done to your car?

Khoi: The car currently has full bolt ons + Alpine MSS Engine/DCT tune BC Racing ER coilovers with swift 9k/14k springs Dinan front sway bar APR Performance GT250 wing Trackspec Motorsports hood louvers CF GT4 Lip CF Side Skirt blades OEM brakes w/ PFC08 + Motul RBF660

APEX: Your WRX was amazing, what made you move on to the M3?

Khoi: I’ve always wanted the E92 M3… putting a high strung small block v8 in an import just seemed so cool! The square set up + beefy front sway bar + more front camber makes rotating the car a piece of cake + NA power just makes the car so much easier to manage in all parts of the track. Yes I miss the boost, I miss all the noises associated with boost but the BMW is a different beast altogether!

You can see Khoi’s Subaru WRX feature here.

APEX: Where can we follow you?

Khoi: You can find me on Instagram @kamphotography_khoi

APEX: Do you have any clubs, shops or racing buddies you want to give a shout out to?

Khoi: HUGE shout out to my sponsor over at Andrewtech Automotive. While they are a Subaru shop; I pretty much am forcing them to work on my BMW. The guys here are family and it feels great to know they put the same amount of love into my BMW as they did with my Subaru.
