BMW G29 Z4 Wheel & Tire Fitment Guide

Are you looking for the perfect flush fitment or OE wheel upgrade for your 2019 BMW G29 Z4? Our Z4 fitment guide is the leading resource for upgrading the performance of your sports car with fitments that allow for wide tires and an aggressive stance. Our Forged ML-10RT, VS-5RS and SM-10RS wheels offer a lightweight option available in both OE replacement widths and offsets ideal for the stock tires as well as aggressive fitments that prioritize wide tires and performance. Our Flow Formed SM-10s bring an affordable price point to the same fitments without the compromises that are common in the wheel industry. The fitments listed in this guide work for all G29 Z4 models including sDrive20i, sDrive30i, M40i. If you’re looking for E89 Z4 wheels instead, check out our BMW E89 Z4 Wheel & Tire Fitment Guide.

Brake Clearance Information

In the engineering phase of wheel development we 3D scan factory brakes and review 2D aftermarket brake templates in order to optimize our barrel profiles and spoke curvatures. As a result, our wheels offer massive brake clearance so you can run the smallest possible wheel diameter.

Hardcore Track Wheel Fitment

Track focused fitments that require significant modifications

These wheel and tire configurations are best suited for hardcore track junkies and club racers competing for a spot on the podium. Everything from Extreme Summer tires to full Racing Slicks are commonly used depending on your experience behind the wheel, class rules, etc.

The majority of these fitments were developed for the A90 Supra. With the architecture sharing between the 2 models, most of the track-oriented fitments developed for the Supra carry over to its convertible twin. One area of concern we noted was a fuel filler pipe and clamp assembly in the passenger side rear wheelwell of the Z4 that came closer to wider 305-section tires.

305/30-19 Falken RT660s on our 19x11 ET40s, rear passenger side inner clearance

We've limited our recommendations to slightly narrower tires for rear fitments or spacer notes to account for this difference.

Aftermarket coilovers with a slimmer silhouette in comparison to the stock struts are recommended. Not all aftermarket coilovers provide a slim enough silhouette to accommodate 11” wheels on the front without the use of spacers, so please contact an APEX product expert if you have any questions. List of confirmed aftermarket that allows no spacers:

  • JRZ RS Pro Coilovers
  • KW Clubsport Coilovers
  • Motion Control Suspension (MCS) Coilovers
  • Megan Racing Street Series Coilovers
  • HKS Height Adjustable Springs on Factory Struts

Additional Negative Camber Required. For both on-track performance and rub-free fitment, we recommend dialing in negative camber with these aggressive track setups. The amount of camber required will vary based on tire choice and ride height.

The following alignment notes / settings have been determined:

Whether you are a casual weekend track warrior that still enjoys your car on the street, or a hard core racer competing for a spot on the podium, negative camber is a vital part of chassis setup that has many benefits. Not only will adding negative camber create more room for wider wheel and tire configurations, it more importantly improves handling, turn-in and tire longevity.
