Aloha from O’ahu! Our photographer (@purtastudios) had a chance to get a closer look at this well-sorted BMW 1 Series with ARC-8 wheels located in beautiful Hawaii. The car owner, Austin (@austinaslink), track prepped his 135i while living in the Pacific Northwest. When he was stationed in Hawaii for the Air Force, the car followed. Although there isn’t a raceway for track enthusiasts on the islands, Austin was able to connect with a great Euro car group to share his passion. The car runs a set of 18″ ARC-8 wheels in satin black, wrapped in Federal tires. An interesting story about Austin is that he works for air traffic control on the Air Force base and commutes by kayak then bike to work. He has to give the right away to whales, submarines and destroyers passing through the channel. Hey, it beats sitting in traffic for an hour!

Prior to joining the company in 2019, he worked for BMW of North America as Fleet Manager: Portland (OR) for the ReachNow car-sharing program, and as Warranty Administrator/Loaner Fleet Manager at BMW Portland. In addition, Tom has extensive training in BMW TSBs (Technical Service Bulletins) as well as in-depth knowledge of all BMW chassis and their wheel fitment options, with and without aftermarket brake and suspension upgrades. His high-performance driving experience includes autocross events in southern Oregon and track days at PIR in his 2004 E46 330i with 17x9 ET42 APEX ARC-8 wheels.
