Porsche GT4 RS Wheel Exchange Program
At Apex Wheels, we are committed to continually evaluating our products to maintain the highest standards of safety and performance. During this process, we found that wheels for the Porsche 718 GT4 RS or Spyder RS were manufactured outside of our desired specification.
Specifically, the wheels were manufactured with the standard Porsche center lock geometry, rather than the unique geometry required for the 718 GT4 RS and Spyder RS. This subtle difference affects thread engagement, and our concern lies in the potential reduction of that engagement. Please note that this issue only affects the front wheels for the 718 GT4 RS and Spyder RS; the rear wheels and other Porsche models are not impacted.
Affected Wheel Specifications:
- 20x9” ET52 VS-5RS Forged Porsche Center Lock Wheels (VS5RS209ET52-CL-PS)
- 19x9.5” ET50 EC-7RS Forged Porsche Center Lock Wheels (EC7RS1995ET50-CL-PS)
Although no safety incidents have been reported, we take all unintended specification discrepancies seriously. Continued use of these specific Apex SKUs on a 718 GT4 RS or Spyder RS is not advised.
To ensure you and your vehicle’s continued safety, we are offering replacement front wheels with the corrected center lock geometry at no charge in exchange for the defective wheels.

- After checking out, our customer service team will be in touch to confirm receipt of your submission and to provide information on how to complete the exchange.
GT4 RS Warranty FAQ
Any difference from OE specification for thread engagement or lug seating represents a potential safety concern. To ensure that current and future owners of these wheels are safe, we are requiring that all defective wheels are returned.
In the meantime, we strongly advise against using your current front wheels, as the consequences of this discrepancy are unknown.

The $1 deposit that is being collected at checkout is fully refundable once the original wheels are returned to us, and no additional payments will be collected as long as the defective wheels are returned within 30 days of receiving your replacement wheels.
Return shipping labels will be provided at no cost to affected customers. We will reimburse up to $150 of tire mounting fees after the replacement wheels have been returned.

After your order is submitted, a member of our team will reach out with additional information. We will be providing return shipping labels for domestic customers at no cost, and you will re-use the boxes that the replacement wheels arrive in for packaging.
International customers will be instructed on how to properly render their wheels unusable in lieu of return shipping.
Apex reserves the right to charge your credit card for the full amount if the defective wheels are not returned within 30 days of receiving your replacement wheels.
We are not able to offer a refund in lieu of exchange due to safety considerations for the defective product.
This program is intended to replace defective wheels with like-for-like units that have our updated GT4 RS centerlock geometry. As such, we cannot offer alternative replacement units.
Additionally, we are unable to accept used products as returns, or unused products outside of our standard 30-day return window.
